Abandoned Church - Coahoma County

Coahoma County in the Mississippi Delta

This past Saturday I ventured over to the delta, specifically, Coahoma County and a bit of Panola County. I went from Clarksdale to Friars Point and around those areas. It's fun for me to explore the state, especially places I've never been before, exploring the backroads and finding out about some of the history. Speaking of history, the delta is full of it, and I really haven't even scratched the surface.

I saw this abandone church on Hwy 322 outside of Clarksdale and I was struck by the huge tree that was sitting beside it and just thought it was a beautiful scene. Coincidentally, next to this church is an old road that has an abandoned sign next to it, which I, of course had to go down.
