Cruisin' the Lake Bottom

Cruisin' the Lake Bottom

I had fun exploring a little bit of Grenada Lake yesterday morning around sunrise. I went to the eastern part of the lake first to try and catch the sunrise. After I did that I saw an old road branching off from the main road so I took the Jeep down it to explore and found out that it is the old part of the highway that existed before they filled the lake in. The lake was really low and looks to have been low for a while because the road was really dry. I didn't ride down it too far, because, as I said in yesterday's post, this was as much a scouting trip as it was a full photo shoot. The road was really broken up (sitting under a lake for a long time tends to do that to roads) so I was glad to be in an all terrain vehicle with all terrain tires. Next time I go I'll definitely do more exploring of the road, assuming it is not underwater. This Jeep comes in so handy for exploring beaten up backroads and going off trail when the need (urge) arises. More photos to come from Grenada.

Here is a very simple shot of some standing water left over from the dried lake bed at Grenada Lake. I took this from the old road that lies on the lake bed.
