Lake Lillies

Lake Lillies

When I shoot in the afternoons, I always want there to be clouds in the sky, because it always adds an interesting alement to a landscape. Unfortunately I can't control that and I like to take photos quite often. So it's nice to find landscapes that aren't too flat or too pristine, though there is a time and place for that. I liked this photo because the water was full of lillies and different types of growth that added a texture to the water to contrast with a very flat sky. Had the water been pristine it might not have worked so well, but the texture of the water is nice to look at I pointed the camera down to lead you from the lillies in the foreground to the sky in the background. At least that was my intention.

Here's a shot I took last year at the Noxubee Wildlife Refuge which is a very beautiful place near Starkville. It's especially beautiful in the fall and also pretty peaceful.

The shot above was found near Macon, MS right past Noxubee Co. High School on a gravel road that runs right next to the school. I think this is the best type of sky to shoot.

This shot is from the Noxubee National Wildlife Refuge. This path goes out over Bluff Lake and offers an awesome view of the lake. It's a great place to go alligator watching.
