Lake Lillies

Lake Lillies

When I shoot in the afternoons, I always want there to be clouds in the sky, because it always adds an interesting alement to a landscape. Unfortunately I can't control that and I like to take photos quite often. So it's nice to find landscapes that aren't too flat or too pristine, though there is a time and place for that. I liked this photo because the water was full of lillies and different types of growth that added a texture to the water to contrast with a very flat sky. Had the water been pristine it might not have worked so well, but the texture of the water is nice to look at I pointed the camera down to lead you from the lillies in the foreground to the sky in the background. At least that was my intention.

I woke up early this past Saturday and headed out to the Noxubee Wildlife Refuge to capture the sunrise. Unfortunately (as has been the case lately) the sky was crystal clear.

Here is another shot from the Noxubee Refuge. This one was after the sun had risen enough to start showing the colors in the surroundings.
