Leaning Tree - Clay County

Leaning Tree - Clay County

I posted a photo of this tree a little while back during sunset. This is a shot from the middle of the day that I took a few months before the sunset version. I don't know which one I like better, but I do know that it's fun to shoot photos of this tree at different times of day/year because the scenery changes so much depending on when you're there. I didn't originally plan to go with a "leaning" theme the last couple of days (see the "Leaning Tractor" from yesterday) but maybe it's the slight lean that makes it interesting. It is fun to play with angles when shooting photos (this tree is not on a hill though it does sort of appear that way in the photo) because slight changes like that can make a big difference in the composition and can sometimes make it work better. You can decide if it works here.

I got up, kind of at the last minute, on Saturday morning to try to catch the sunrise, so I hopped in the Jeep and chased after it.

I love living in West Point. It has a beautiful downtown and it's super quiet in the evenings, which makes walking around much more calming and relaxing.

Caught a great sunset on the way home from work last week as I came into West Point. I knew this would be a great spot, because I've taken photos from near this spot before.
