Passing Train

Passing Train

I ventured down by the river while in Amory this past weekend and spotted this train bridger going over this curve in the road. The river is literally right down the hill past the barriers you see on the left. As I was shooting photos of the bridge I could feel the rumble of the train and kept hearing it get closer and closer. I was excited that I could actually shoot the bridge while a train was passing by and with the low lighting due to the clouds I knew I could capture the train in motion so I hurredly adjusted my camera settings for a longer exposure. The train was moving pretty fast but was really long, so it gave me a good opportunity to get lots of shots. This is my favorite because it capture the nice curve in the road and I also got a nice blurred train as it speeds by, really capturing the movement of it and the sense of speed. I love gettings shots where something is moving fast while everything else around it is completely still, creating a sort of abstract piece among non abstract things.

Here is another photo from Bill's Hamburgers, a super cool-looking little cafe in downtown Amory. I was so glad I was able to take some photos inside the restaurant and capture the vintage look.

I love this painted wall in Amory as you come into their downtown area. It's big, bold, but simple and shows great town pride. Amory is a great little town.

I love taking pictures of sunsets and sunrises and colorful skies and colorful scenes, but the beauty of a photograph isn't always in the color of it, but in the content of it.
