This is the beautiful St. Mary Basilica in downtown Natchez, a church that towers above the town and was actually hard to get in to a single shot with my 19mm Sigma lens. Due to that I'm sure it will get a terrible crop when I post it to Instagram (thank you, Instagram). Anywho, the sky was so cooperative on this day, everywhere we went, even though there were some off and on summer showers. I couldn't have asked for better lighting. That alwasy worries me a bit when I go out of town to take photos, because you never know exactly what the weather will be like, or even what the sky will look like.
We stayed in a great place there called Starling's Rest, a nice B&B in an old home that was right off of the downtown business district and just down the street from the Natchez Cemetery, so it made it very convenient for us to see the town for a bit and then go back to our room for a bit to rest. I highly recommend a visit to Natchez and the surrounding area.
