Tarlton Two

In the early days of this blog I posted a photo of this store. You can see it here. I stumbled across this store when I was headed to Louisville from Columbus and taking some back roads because the back roads are where the really good shots are. I loved that it still had the hand drawn sign on it, which gave it a lot of character. I'm sure this building has some stories to tell.

I added a texture to this photo to give a bit more of a rough, old look. I play around with textures from time to time, using textures that I've created myself. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't and I rarely use them in my photos. It's super easy to create textures because they are all around you. I've even gone on photo walks, just to get textures. Brick walls, concrete walkways, gravel, tree bark, leaves, there are so many textures around you, even wherever you happen to be right now. Just take your camera, take a photo of an interesting texture and try it on some of your photos and voila!

I often dig through old RAW photos to see if I missed anything in the past or if I find out that I now like a photo that I once thought wasn't that good. This is one of those photos.

Here is a photo to cool you off during this hot summer. I took this the day after last year's snow when there was still a good bit of snow on the ground.

I love going to the fair and taking photos. There is so much color and movment, along with interesting people. It is sensory overload and I love to capture that, or at least attempt to.
