Telephone HQ

Telephone HQ

A friend of mine told me about the old Gulf Ordinance plant that is located in Praire, only about 12 miles from my house, so the other day I ventured out to see it and learned about a neat piece of history right in my own backyard. This plant was an ammunition plant during WWII and made several different types of ammunition that was used in the war. After the war was over the plant shut down, and although, I don't know if it has been used by any other companies, looks to have been abandone for quite some time. This was the only building I could get close too, since all the other areas were fenced in with "No Trespassing" signs. The sun was setting and creating a nice gold color in the grass, making for a beautiful scene around this abandoned building that was once the telephone headquarters for the plant. I plan to go back soon and get more photos, especially since I made some goofs with my camera settings that ruined some of the other photos that I took. More to come!

Here is a site I found with more info about this cool piece of history!
