Windmill at Sunrise

Windmill at Sunrise

The windmill is the symbol of West Point as it greets you a few miles outside of town on Highway 50. I woke up pretty early on a Saturday to get this shot. I love the windmill as do most fellow West Pointians. There is now even a windmill that was donated by the town of West Point, NE that sits across from Sally Kate Winters Park downtown. I have shot many photos of it at various times of the day and this is by far my favorite one. This was also the first and only HDR photo that I created using Photoshop's Merge to HDR option. It turned out great in this case but has not worked well in other tests, so I will continue to stick with Photomatix.

I posted a photo of this tree a little while back during sunset. This is a shot from the middle of the day that I took a few months before the sunset version.
